Just listened to Van Jones keynote which was moving and unbelivevably wonderful. He is the reason we have a green jobs bill. He started with the idea that we needed to have a future for the marginalized populations in the emerging field of clean energy. Because of his work in Oakland, CA, he became known and was invited by Nancy Pelosi to talk to her about his idea. The legislation was crafted shortly after that. He was an awesom speaker and the moment at the end of his talk when he choked up on the picture of three youngsters from his neighborhood, the enitre room was in tears. It was the most moving part of the conference and spoke to the experience we have been talking about in the Theory U presentation. it is the moment of connection with our hearts and the field of potentiality. We realize as the collective (over 1,000 folks in the room) that this man's dream touched every person heart as the right thing to do and the right thing to support.
We all walked out of that room changed individuals. It was a moment to be treasured when we see goodness and passion flow out into the crown and leave an imprint on each of us.
This is a posting on informational items with regards to systems thinking and workforce development

Pegasus Conference
The first full, and I mean full (12 hr) day of conference is finished. I am ready to start the second day. The conference has over 1,000 attendees and there is great information sharing and interaction with all the participants.
Otto Scharmer gave his talk from 4:30 to 6:15 last night in reviewing the Theory U and got into some of the thinking behind this organizational learning theory.
I see some very importing briefing points i will need to make to the ad-hoc NGO committee to get them started.
One session I attended was on the Cascadia bio-region and it was facinating and a great example of two women and how they are literally moving a region from Alaska to California to begin to plan for their future sustainability in the future. I was moved at the clarity of language and reasoning that was expressed in the presentation.

Pegasus Conference
I am now in the Westin in Seattle and have pre-registered for the conference starting tomorrow. I am looking forward to the keynote speakers and the break out sessions. I am anxious to learn how we are progressing in our systems learning and what practices are evolving to engage others to build relationships and amplifying our impact as the conference theme reflects.
Andrea is here safe and sound and we will go out to get dinner soon. This will be an extremely important conference to network and help connect for my Public Administration Masters course.
I will post blogs as I go thru the day to help capture the important information we will learn and reflect on conversations that matter as Monday progresses.
